The Lateralization Of The Brain

The theory of Brain Lateralization was developed by Nobel-prize winners Roger Sperry and Robert Ornstein.


The left and right brain theory.

Which side of your brain is more dominant?

LEFT

- Language, logic, numbers, critical thinking, reasoning, writing

RIGHT

- Recognizing faces, Music, Images, Creativity, Motions, Arts

Pag right brain, left side ng body and vice versa ang cinocontrol.

MIND MAP popularized by Tony Buzan. A mind map is thinking technique used to visually organize information. Usually revolves around a central subject.

TWO TYPES OF MIND MAP: Handwritten and Computerized

1. Handwritten

- these are the traditional mind map using the hands

- suits the left-brained people

- words-based and have less visual hands-on


PROS

- There is a personal touch, uniqueness.

- It requires only simple materials (paper, pencil, coloring materials).

- It allows spontaneous flow of thoughts and ideas.


CONS

- There is difficulty when wishes to edit or modify it.

- Handwritten mind maps can be less presentable.


2. COMPUTERIZED

- These are generated through computer and computer applications.

- This suits the right-brained individuals.

- This much allows creativity and more visual accompaniments.


PROS

- It can easily be edited, modified, and updated.

- It appears to be more formal and presentable.

- It can be easily be done if one is knowledgeable in computer applications.


CONS

- This requires a certain level of computer literacy.

- It may not be readily available when needed since it needs to be printed or presented using a device.
